Project Grain Silo

The original location...only about 15 miles from the house ..I got this wonderful idea that one of these would be really cool to have at our place, we had seen where a man had turned one into a little one bedroom apartment and it turned out really neat..it should be a breeze to jack this thing up and move it to the house... no problem

So far so good... these things are a little unstable once you get them up off the ground

Have to get it up high enough to get the trailer under it

We dropped it....no not just once....four times before it's all said and done...Kolton is thinking his dad has some pretty hairbrained ideas sometimes....you should have seen the look on his face after it fell the second time, and his solution to the whole thing.. "Dad let's just buy this property and leave it here!!!!"... I was beginning to think he might not have such a bad idea!!!!

I think this is after it had fallen the third time.....

Trying to get the back end high enough to clear the trailer, and hoping that it doesn't fall again....but it did...I didn't stop Ivy in time and she bumps the cinder blocks with the trailer! Oh well just try again right!!!!!!

Yaaaayyyyy....got it on the trailer and tied down...me and Kolton are just about wore out and Ivy is thinking she doesn't like backing a trailer for Dad after all... now we just have to get it to the house without losing it or taking down any overhead lines .....should be pretty easy....

Made it to the house finally... park it behind the shop tonight for a wind break because there is supposed to be a blue norther coming in tonight and tomorrow bringing high winds and rain/sleet...

Although I thought that blue norther didn't bring that much moisture, it brought enough!!! I'm stuck in the mud....forecast is calling for 50 to 60 mph gust tomorrow...have to get it unloaded today!!!

Finally got it moving again, just a little further and it will be where we want it

We are feeling really good about things right now...all we have left to do is just lower it to the ground and tie it down...

Waaaahoooooo!!!! Finally setting on solid ground again!!! It was at this point that I told Kolton, "See, I told you it would be no problem" :-)))))

A little plumbing for the bath and kitchen areas

The master plumber and HER assistant!!!!!

Ready for concrete soon

The concrete crew!!!! I think we are a little pale for this kind of work!!!

Had to drag most of the concrete because we couldn't move the chute very far ...once again Kolton is wondering about his Dad's ideas!!!!

This isn't near as fun as it looks!!

The finished floor..don't know yet whether we will stain the floor or install ceramic tile

Now we will start on the porch next! Should be really simple...no problem at all!! :-D
